Tutoring software shaped around the school week
Tutoring lessons start when school lets out: during the school year the schedule fills with afternoon and evening hours, while during breaks lessons shift to the morning or happen less often. It is usually a parent who pays and a child who comes to the lesson, so every arrangement involves two people at once. Tutoring software brings the schedule, payments and notes on each student into one calendar of working hours that is easy to rebuild for a new semester or a school break.
A parent books, a child learns
A younger student rarely books on their own, so it helps to add custom fields to the online booking form, such as grade and subject, and make them required. Parents pick a free hour themselves, and the tutor knows before the lesson whom they will teach and what to cover, without asking again in a messenger. When a brother and a sister both study with the same tutor, these fields keep it clear which child a lesson is for.
Lessons of different lengths from one pack
Before a quiz a student asks for a short check-in, and during school breaks for a double lesson. A membership counted in duration rather than in visits deducts exactly as much time as the lesson took, so short and long lessons come out of one pack without recalculation. Parents can buy such a membership online: the online booking settings allow membership sales, and once a payment provider is connected, it is paid right at purchase or later through the payment link kept in the client's personal account. If parents pay cash at the first lesson instead, the membership is issued manually and switched on as soon as the payment is recorded.
A student who forgets the lesson
Students easily mix up the days when lessons with a tutor fall at a different time each week. At a set hour on the eve of the lesson, a reminder goes to the student or a parent via Telegram, email or SMS in the channel order the tutor has chosen. If a lesson does have to move, the appointment is simply dragged to another time in the calendar, and the reminder goes out for the new one.
Subjects, formats and one-off lessons
A tutor who teaches several subjects sets up each subject and format as a separate service: an online lesson, a lesson at the tutor's home, a session before a test. Each service has its own duration and price, so the student sees exactly what they are booking, and a membership template can be limited to a single subject. A one-off lesson without a pack can also be paid online: when payment is optional, parents pay during booking or later in the personal account. All the ways to accept payment for appointments and memberships are collected in the help article on payments.
The tutor sets working hours personally: in the schedule they add a break in the middle of the day, move the start of work on a specific date or mark a day off, and the booking form stops offering those hours.
After a lesson the tutor adds a short note to the student's card in the mobile app, and the next session starts where the last one stopped. A neighboring format with intensive exam prep is described on the page about test preparation centers, and other kinds of teaching are gathered in the overview of education services.
