Car tuning studio software for builds that keep a car in the bay all week

A tuning studio rarely deals in short visits: a vinyl wrap, a reupholstered interior or a new audio system keeps a bay busy for days, and parts are ordered for one specific car. Car tuning studio software has to lay these builds out on the schedule stage by stage, keep track of the parts bought for each car and show how much the studio really earned in a month.

An inspection first, then the build

The client books a consultation with a look at the car through the online booking form, because that one takes a predictable amount of time. Once the build is agreed, the administrator puts it on the schedule as several bookings, one per stage: teardown, installation, final setup. Each service has a duration and price in its settings, but for a particular car they are changed by hand, since the real scope of the work only becomes clear after the inspection.

The client reads the terms before handing over the keys

Before the visit the client gets a survey with the studio's terms and answers a few questions: the model, the trim level, the color or material they want. Links to every survey sent stay in the client's personal account, so the terms are always there to go back to. After the car is picked up, a separate survey asks for feedback on the result.

Parts bought for a single car

Parts are added to the booking as an order and come off the stock count once the booking is saved as paid. Every catalog item can carry a photo, an SKU and a description, so an installer does not mix up two similar kits. To keep build parts from mixing with everyday supplies, the studio can run several warehouses, as the step-by-step warehouse walkthrough suggests.

Three lines of work and three different specialists

Wraps, interior work and audio installs are usually done by different people, so each specialist is set up as a separate resource with a list of services of their own. The form then offers an audio consultation only to the person who actually installs the systems, and the schedule shows whose week is already full. In the financial results report, the revenue from each specialist sits next to what the studio spent on that person, so the decision to hire a second installer rests on numbers rather than a hunch. How to read the studio's financial reports is covered in the article on the P&L report.

Tuning clients often come back with the next idea for the same car. For them, a multi-level discount with the Total money calculation type fits well: the more the client has already spent at the studio, the higher the threshold they clear and the bigger the discount. The statistics behind the condition can be narrowed to bookings with selected services, so consultations do not push a client up a level. The other automotive lines of work are listed in the auto business catalog.
