Car dealership software that keeps test drives and accessory sales in one system
A car dealership earns its living from more than the cars themselves: a salesperson's day is made of test drives, consultations, vehicle handovers and the small items buyers pick up along with a new car. Car dealership software has to bring those events into a single schedule, so the same demo model is never promised to two people for the same hour and a conversation with a buyer does not stay on one salesperson's personal phone.
One demo car and two people who want to drive it
In the system a resource can be equipment as well as an employee, so each demo vehicle is set up as a resource of its own. After a phone call, the salesperson enters the test drive in the appointment calendar, and the car's availability shows up next to the consultants' schedule. The resource description is a good place for the trim level and the body color, so two similar versions of one model do not get mixed up.
If a buyer asks for a different time, the meeting is moved on the schedule and a notification about the change goes out to them automatically by Telegram, SMS or email.
Floor mats, a trunk organizer and a cargo net
Buyers often add accessories to a new car, and those need a product catalog rather than a notebook with stock counts. Each item gets a photo, an SKU and a barcode, and a large range can be pulled in from a spreadsheet through synchronization. The accessories already in the showroom go in once through an inventory document, and each later delivery is recorded as a receipt with its purchase cost, so what the dealership paid for a roof box stays on record. Accessories and consignment goods can live in separate warehouses. The full setup is covered in the step-by-step warehouse guide.
A buyer comes back a few weeks later
The client card keeps the visit history and reviews, so the salesperson can see which model the person drove and when. Regular clients can get a fixed discount or a discount based on the receipt total for accessories. After filtering the client list, the dealership sends news about a new delivery only to the people it actually concerns.
Costs of preparing demo cars, such as washing or fuel, are entered as cash documents under their own expense category, and the cash flow report shows them apart from income.
What the driver thought after the test drive
A post-visit survey asks whether there was enough time behind the wheel and whether the consultant explained the purchase terms clearly, and the moment it goes out is set in mailing planning. Before a test drive, a short survey can remind the person to bring a driver's license. Dealerships belong to the automotive business section, next to car washes, tire shops and auto repair shops.
