Bowling center software that runs the schedule lane by lane
In a bowling center the unit of the schedule is the lane: a group of friends, a family with kids or an amateur league team plays on it, and every game takes the whole lane. Bowling center software has to show each lane's schedule separately, recognize regular bowlers and keep track of bar sales that run alongside the game.
A lane with bumpers and a private area
Every lane becomes a separate resource with the occupancy mode "all", so a game takes the lane completely and a second group cannot land on it at the same time. Every resource has its own working hours, so lanes in a private area can open later than the main floor. A client learns about the lane with bumpers for the youngest players from its short description while still choosing in online booking. A lane a technician is working on stays in the schedule for internal accounting but is hidden from online booking and other external services. All of these settings are covered in more detail in the reference on occupancy modes and resource descriptions.
The Thursday amateur league
League members get a client card of a separate type, and the game discount is set up to apply only to holders of that card. A card is handed out and checked right in the client details, so nobody keeps a list of members in a notebook behind the counter. The available promotions panel in the booking details shows the bowler's current result, and the front desk can tell them how many games are left until the next threshold. For those who practice between league rounds, a membership for a number of visits works well, with its template limited to lane services so it cannot pay for anything at the bar.
A party for the office next door
For advertising among nearby companies, the center creates a separate appointment source and ties a discount to it, so the discount applies only to people who arrived through that link. The appointment source report later shows how many bookings and how much money this campaign brought in. For birthday guests, a discount marked "do not apply automatically" fits: it never fills itself in, and the administrator picks it deliberately in the booking once the guest mentions the occasion. The size of that discount is still calculated by the system, not estimated by eye at the desk. All seven calculation types are described in the article on booking discounts.
The bar next to the lanes
Bar drinks and the display case with gloves and wrist supports are easier to manage as two separate warehouses, so their balances never mix. A bar order is attached to the lane booking, which keeps the group's bill in one place, and when the order is saved as paid, the items are deducted from stock and the money is recorded at the cash register. The cash flow report splits income by category, so lane games, the bar and the display case never merge into a single figure. Other leisure formats, from escape rooms to go-karting, are collected in the section on events and leisure.
