Tire shop software for the seasonal changeover rush
A tire shop works in waves: most customers arrive in the few weeks each fall and spring when everyone swaps their wheels at once, and the shop is calmer in between. Tire shop software has to handle that surge, show in time whether the size someone needs is on the shelf, and keep each driver's history until the next season. Other automotive formats, from car washes to repair shops, are gathered on the automotive business page.
A line at the lifts after the first frost
Each lift or service bay is set up as a resource, since equipment can be a resource too, and the real-time schedule shows which one is free and until when. A customer who could not get through on the phone books on their own through the online booking form on the shop's site or social page, even at night, while the front desk slots walk-ins into the gaps between appointments. The client card holds visit statistics, so when a driver comes back in spring you can see which services they had in the fall. If your shop also stores customers' sets between seasons, the guide to seasonal tire storage explains how to take them in and label where each one sits.
A size that is not on the shelf yet
A customer wants a specific set, and the supplier will only deliver it on Thursday. You record the delivery right away as a warehouse document in the created status, and the projected balance already counts that set, while the actual balance changes only once the document is confirmed, when the tires are unloaded. The catalog shows balances for any chosen day, past or future, so you can see whether there will be enough sets for next week's appointments. Each item card has SKU and barcode fields, which are handy for the size marking. Wheel weights and valve stems that go into the job at no extra charge are entered as the appointment's consumables, and they come off the books when the appointment is saved as paid. Setting up your item list and opening balances is covered in the article on getting started with the warehouse.
The rim size is known before the car arrives
A pre-visit survey asks for the details you need to confirm the appointment: wheel size, whether the customer brings their own tires, whether valve stems need replacing. The technician knows before the car pulls in whether the equipment can handle those rims. After the visit, another survey asks whether the steering wheel shakes at speed after balancing, and reviews go into a separate section where you can confirm them manually.
A taxi fleet switches every car at once
For a business customer with several vehicles, it makes sense to create a separate client card type and a discount that applies only to holders of that card. The card is issued in the client details to each of the fleet's drivers, and the discount fills itself into the appointment. Private drivers who return to the same shop every season can get a discount that rises as their appointment count goes up. And to keep payments from such a customer from getting lost among the rest, the cash flow report shows income categories and the registers the payments went through.
