Auto mechanic software for someone who takes in the cars and fixes them too

A mechanic in a small garage often works without a front desk: both hands are under the hood, and the phone rings exactly when there is no way to answer it. Auto mechanic software has to take over booking, client messages and reminders about the next service, so that working hours are left for the car itself.

A call nobody picked up

A client who could not get through picks a service and a free time slot in the online booking form on their own. An oil change, a suspension check and a brake pad replacement are set up as separate services, each with its own duration, and the form offers only the hours where the job actually fits. Duration and price come from the service settings, but for a particular car they can be changed by hand when it is obvious from the start that the repair will take longer. If the settings allow it, the client reschedules or cancels the visit in their personal account without pulling the mechanic away from work.

When a trip to the supplier for a part comes up in the middle of the day, the mechanic adds a break to the schedule for the current day, and the form stops offering that time to clients. A whole day can be turned into a day off just as quickly.

The scheduled service the client will forget

Once an interval set for each service has passed since the visit, the client gets a reminder: an oil change runs on one cycle, a seasonal suspension check on another. The text works best when it refers to the previous visit, and the message should carry a link to book. How to find the right interval from the real visits of regular clients is explained in the guide on cycle-based return visits.

The client describes the noise before arriving

Before the visit, the client answers a few questions: the make, when the noise appears, whether a warning light is on. The mechanic opens the answers before the car rolls into the garage and knows in advance whether the booked time will be enough.

The history of every car and a cash register instead of a notebook

The client card collects visit statistics and every review, so the mechanic can see what has already been done to the car. The cash register handles cash and card income, and income categories keep diagnostics apart from repairs. Money paid to a supplier for a part is recorded as a manual cash document under an expense category, so the cash history shows not only what came in but also how much went on parts. A discount on every few visits gives clients a reason to keep coming back to the same garage, and the discounts extension for the administrator shows during booking which offer the client already qualifies for.

Once a garage grows into several bays and hired mechanics, the page for multi-bay repair shops becomes the closer fit, and every line of work is gathered in the automotive industry overview.
