Tailor shop software for orders that take several fittings
A client rarely visits a tailor shop only once: first come the measurements and the choice of fabric, then one or two fittings, and finally pickup. Tailor shop software has to tie those visits into one story, remember the measurements and call the client in for a fitting on time, because the tailor cannot move on without it.
Measurements nobody has to take twice
Chest, waist and sleeve length go into additional fields linked to the client's data rather than to a single visit. When a regular client orders a new suit six months later, the tailor sees the measurements on the client card and only checks whether anything has changed. The fields are shown both to employees and in the admin panel, and required ones will not let the card be saved without the key sizes.
The second fitting someone forgot
Fittings sit on the calendar as bookings for a specific tailor, so it is clear how many of them each tailor already has this week. A reminder goes out to the client a set time before the fitting through Telegram, email or SMS. When the office edits the fitting time several times in a row, the delay before sending makes the notification wait until the editing is done, and the client gets one message instead of a series.
Fabric by the meter, buttons by the piece
Fabrics, threads, zippers and buttons are kept in the warehouse catalog, and a photo on each fabric lets the client choose by look rather than by SKU. Custom units of measurement let fabric be counted in meters and notions by the piece. Before agreeing to a large order, the tailor checks the warehouse stock of the right fabric instead of relying on memory. A zipper the client buys separately goes through as an order and leaves the warehouse together with the payment.
A sketch the client brings on a phone
People often come in with a magazine photo of a suit or a sketch of their own. That file is attached to the client card through an additional field of the file type, and at the fitting the tailor checks the cut against it rather than against a note in a notebook. After pickup, a survey sent through mailing planning asks whether the garment fits comfortably, and one of the survey screens can serve as a review, as the article on client reviews explains.
A regular client card and small alterations at the tailor shop
A client who once ordered a made-to-measure suit usually comes back for small alterations: hemming pants, replacing a zipper, shortening a coat. For them, the shop creates a separate client card type with a name and a description and limits a discount to people holding it. The administrator issues the card from the client details to people who have already had something made at the shop, so the tailor sees it before quoting a price for an alteration. Other conditions, from a discount on a given visit number to limits by service, are described in the help page on appointment promotions.
Each alteration is worth setting up as its own short service with its own price: the booking then shows what the bill for a bundle of garments is made of, and the tailor's schedule shows how much time the small jobs take next to made-to-measure work. Neighboring home service businesses are collected on the household services hub.
